International Day of Persons with Disabilities: Accessibility at Wembley Stadium
To mark International Day of Persons with Disabilities we invited 11-year-old Carmela Chillery-Watson MBE to the Lionesses game against China to assess the accessibility services here at Wembley Stadium.
She attended last Saturday’s fixture with her parents and assistance dog Tinker. As part of her visit, she also chatted to Stadium Director, Mark Lynch to discuss some of the services Wembley Stadium offers guests with access issues.
Carmela made headlines this year when she became the youngest person to receive an MBE in the King’s honours list. The wheelchair user was diagnosed with muscular dystrophy aged just 3.
Since then, she has taken on several fundraising and awareness challenges to campaign for better services for wheelchair users.
