OASIS BRING THE CURTAIN DOWN ON RECORD-BREAKING CONCERT SEASON AT WEMBLEY STADIUM

Oasis brought the curtain down on a record-breaking concert season at Wembley Stadium connected by EE last weekend.

The venue hosted an incredible 26 concerts between June and September – the most in its history during its concert season - and welcomed more than two million guests during that time - also a first for the venue.

The Oasis show was the band’s seventh at Wembley this summer and their last in the UK this year. It brought an end to an incredible run of performances, witnessed by more than half a million fans, who waited more than 16 years to see them return to Wembley Stadium.

This concert season also saw the venue play host to a record-breaking run of shows from Coldplay. The band lit up Wembley Stadium for 10-nights throughout August and September - the longest residency for any artist ever at the venue.

Other acts to perform at the national stadium included Dua Lipa (x2) Lana Del Rey (x2), BLACKPINK (x2) Guns n Roses and Linkin Park. Capital’s Summertime Ball kicked off the concert season back in June.

The extended concert run this year was only possible because of the lay and play pitch system adopted at Wembley Stadium, which allows for sports pitches to be grown off site and laid down within days.

Mark Lynch, Stadium Director, said: “Lay and play means formerly unachievable tight turn arounds between music events and sport are now possible. It also means our concert season doesn’t end with the Community Shield in August. We can go again after that and this year after hosting the fifth Oasis show on August 3, we put down a brand-new pitch for the Community Shield on August 10.

“We then converted straight back into concert mode for BLACKPINK five days later, before welcoming Coldplay and Oasis. It has all been incredibly busy but a massive achievement for everyone involved.”

While concert season has officially ended Wembley still has a packed schedule of events ahead for the rest of 2025 featuring international football, NFL, rugby league, and rugby union. The next event to take place at the stadium will see England’s Three Lions take on Wales in a friendly fixture in support of Alzheimer’s Society – the dedicated charity of The FA and Wembley Stadium.
