Fan behaviour at Wembley Stadium
Wembley Stadium connected by EE is urging football fans to ‘Love Football. Protect the Game’ as it continues its commitment to clamping down on anti-social behaviour.
Last year the stadium implemented a zero-tolerance approach to poor fan behaviour, resulting in a better experience for all guests visiting the National Stadium.
Now, ahead of this year’s calendar of events, the stadium has said it will be taking the same approach to any fan who demonstrates any form of discriminatory, offensive, or illegal behaviour.
Last year the stadium’s security and safety teams committed to taking a more pro-active stance to all forms of anti-social behaviour.
They implemented a range of crowd safety measures which were tried and tested at high –profile events. This included utilising technology to improve evidence gathering capabilities, which enabled crowd safety teams to identify offenders faster.
The stadium also enjoys an excellent working relationship with the Metropolitan Police which meant any issues could be resolved at the stadium immediately.
Mark Lynch, Wembley Stadium Director, said “We will continue to take this approach into all our events throughout the upcoming season.
“Anti-social behaviour by a small minority of fans should not and will not be tolerated, and we will use all the powers available to us to ensure that this is the case.”
“Football is a passionate game where emotions are high, but there is no excuse for anti-social behaviour.
“We want all supporters coming to Wembley Stadium to enjoy a great day out in a safe and secure environment.
