WORLD'S ELITE COMING TO WEMBLEY
England men will welcome Brazil and Belgium to Wembley Stadium connected by EE in March 2024.
The exciting double-header against two nations ranked alongside the Three Lions in the top five of FIFA’s world rankings will form an important part of preparation for UEFA EURO 2024.
Five-time World Cup winners Brazil will visit on Saturday 23 March with the Red Devils of Belgium scheduled for Tuesday 26 March.
Qualification for EURO 2024 in Germany was secured with two games to spare following last month’s 3-1 win against Italy at Wembley.
England are looking to finish 2023 and the EURO 2024 qualification process strong when they play host to Malta at Wembley on Friday 17 November (7.45pm kick-off) before travelling to North Macedonia on Monday 20 November (7.45pm kick-off). Tickets for the visit of Malta are still available via TheFA.com/tickets.
Gareth Southgate said: “I am happy to have two strong matches in March as we build towards the EURO finals. It is important we take every opportunity to test ourselves against top opposition.
“Before then, we have our last qualifiers against Malta and North Macedonia coming up. Getting two positive results is essential if we are to make sure of being top seeds in the EURO draw next month. We can’t afford to think the job is done as there is still work to do, while every second for us together in camp counts if we are to give ourselves the best chance of success next summer.”
The Brazilians were last at Wembley in November 2017 for a goalless draw in what was the 26th meeting between the two nations. Next year’s fixture will be the first time that the Three Lions have faced South American opposition in almost six years.
Brazil have already started their qualification process for the 2026 FIFA World Cup and are also looking ahead to next summer’s Copa América in the United States.
Belgium have also already qualified for EURO 2024. England have faced the Belgians on 25 previous occasions with the last Wembley encounter being a 2-1 UEFA Nations League victory in October 2020, Marcus Rashford and Mason Mount on the scoresheet for the hosts during a match held behind-closed-doors owing to the COVID-19 pandemic.
Both March games – as well as this month’s EURO 2024 qualifiers – will be broadcast live on Channel 4.
