Little Mix return to Wembley

Chart-topping girl group LITTLE MIX will perform the pre-game show at the NFL’s International Series game at Wembley Stadium this Sunday (October 26), when the Atlanta Falcons host the Detroit Lions.

Little Mix, who in 2011 became the first group to win UK television’s ‘The X Factor’, will showcase two of their best-known hits before the 1:30 p.m. kick-off of the NFL’s tenth regular-season game to be played in London since the International Series began in 2007.

“We are very pleased to have Little Mix kick things off for us on Sunday,” said Alistair Kirkwood, Managing Director of NFLUK. “Our Wembley games have established a reputation for offering a diverse range of high-profile acts and we are looking forward to the excitement and energy that Little Mix will bring to the stadium.”

Little Mix have sold more than five million records worldwide, and have had two number one  singles in the UK, "Cannonball" and "Wings”. Released in November 2012, their debut album “DNA” charted in the top five in eight countries, including number two in the UK and number four on the US Billboard 200, the highest debut US chart position by a British girl group. Their second album "Salute" was released in November 2013, reaching number four in the UK and number six in the US.

Previous pre-game artists in the International Series have been: The Feeling (2007), Stereophonics (2008), Calvin Harris (2009), Goo-Goo Dolls (2010), My Chemical Romance (2011), Train (2012), Tinie Tempah (2013), NE-YO (2013). Def Leppard (2014).

The US national anthem, ‘The Star Spangled Banner’ will be sung before the game by four-time Grammy Award winner DIANNE REEVES, one of the world’s leading female jazz vocalists. She won the Grammy for Best Jazz Vocal Performance in 2001, 2002, 2004 and 2006.

The UK national anthem will be sung by best-selling soprano LAURA WRIGHT, who performed ‘God Save The Queen’ at last month’s International Series games.

The Lions-Falcons game will kick off at 1:30 p.m. UK time (9:30 a.m. ET) and will be aired live in the UK on Channel 4 and Sky Sports and in the US on FOX.
