Express service for City fans
Coach seats direct to Wembley's iconic arch are still available for Manchester City fans affected by rail disruption on the day of the Community Shield (Sunday, August 10).
National Express is running direct coach services to the FA Community Shield at Wembley Stadium – while those travelling by train face severely disrupted journeys.
The UK’s largest coach operator will be taking fans directly from Manchester to the iconic arch for the game, which kicks-off at 3pm on Sunday, August 10.
The news will likely be welcomed by fans, as engineering works on the West Coast Main Line is set to severely disrupt train services from Manchester to London (Saturday, August 9 – Monday, August 11).
Tickets cost £36.50 return and coaches will drop-off and pick-up supporters right at the stadium gate, ensuring people avoid the heaving crowds on Wembley Way and in the London Underground.
Coaches depart Manchester Coach Station at 08.00 and arrive at Wembley at 12.30. Return coaches depart Wembley at 18.30 and arrive back in Manchester at 23.00.
National Express has also pledged its services will not depart until a full hour after the final ball has been kicked, giving victorious fans precious extra time to celebrate a memorable win.
Unlike alternative options, choosing coach travel means fans are guaranteed a seat, which is particularly ideal for a comfortable journey approximately 200 miles back north at the end of what promises to be a thrilling day.
National Express is the Official Coach Supplier to Wembley Stadium.
