The Killers’ reckon Saturday’s concert at Wembley Stadium will be the pinnacle of their career.

A sold-out 78,000 crowd will be in attendance to see Brandon Flowers’ band play their largest ever headline show on UK soil.

And drummer Ronnie Vannucci said: "Without wanting to sound cheesy, this gig is the culmination of a lot of hopes and dreams and aspirations.

“Back in the early days, when we were in my garage playing 'Jenny Was a Friend of Mine’, I remember thinking, ‘We'll play this at Wembley Stadium one day’.

“Now, it’s like we get to join that echelon."

Vannucci also revealed that The Killers are working on new music and have recorded a song with M83’s Anthony Gonzalez.

Speaking to NME.com, he added: "Not just demos, real recordings.

“You never know what it’s gonna be, but we have our engineer and we’re working with a couple of surprise guests in the producer capacity. Some of it is sounding really cool.

“We can be guilty of making things so ornate and sometimes that’s a bad thing.

“So I always have conversations with Brandon about working from a smaller palate, simplifying things.

“If these new tracks develop a theme, a common thread, then that could be the start of something."
