Last Friday, Robbie Williams brought the summer music calendar to an end until September with a vintage performance. On form with his witty banter, extravagant facial expressions and energetic dance moves, he had the crowd eating out of the palm of his hand, and they responded, as the former Take That star reeled off hit after hit.

With the arch lit and the fans screaming for more, there is no better sight than a packed Wembley Stadium, the ultimate sporting and music venue, and with the stunning summer of music to date it has lived up to its billing.

The Capital Summertime Ball kicked off the stadium’s summer music concert season.  A whole host of pop icons graced the stage including The Wanted, Taylor Swift, Labrinth, Rizzle Kicks and Robbie Williams who would return later in the month for Take the Crown Tour. 

Arguably the highlight of the day, however, was the sight of PSY and the 80,000 strong crowd going for it ‘Gangnam Style’! The whole day was a blast and it certainly kick started Wembley's summer musical extravaganza.

The following week The Boss rocked the stadium with the E Street Band bringing their Wrecking Ball Tour to Wembley.  Springsteen made his long awaited comeback at the stadium after 25 years since his last performance in 1988.

Springsteen entertained the 73,000 plus crowd for over 3 hours.  The Guardian gave the show five stars adding "it's almost commonplace to say a Springsteen show is another triumph, but - really - he just keeps getting better and better".

The Killers wowed the Wembley crowd in late June with their biggest ever standalone show. A number of their classic songs were performed including When You Were Young, Somebody Told Me and All These Things That I've Done.

The band then surprised everyone by performing a song written specially for Wembley Stadium which Brandon Flowers sang to “commemorate this joyous occasion”.

A rendition of Mr Brightside may have ended their performance but Wembley’s music season was in full flow by this stage and there were more stunning performances to come.

FA150 ambassador Olly Murs returned to Wembley following his performance at The Capital Summertime Ball to support his friend Robbie Williams, as the former Take That icon played four nights to packed crowds. 

Murs kicked things off, treating the crowd to an hour long set performing a mixture of hit songs from his three albums.

Then Robbie Williams, began his sets in his traditional style with Let Me Entertain You and he certainly did just that in front of over 280,000 adoring fans over the four nights.

There aren't many performers who rival Robbie when it comes to crowd interaction. On each night of Robbie’s gigs, one lucky fan was handpicked from the crowd and serenaded with a rendition of his hit Strong.

As is customary, Williams ended each night with his classic hit Angels.  It felt like a fitting end as he left the stage leaving his adoring fans to belt out the Angel’s chorus as they made their way back home.

With Roger Waters – The Wall set to conclude the musical season in September it is already shaping up to be one of the best years from a musical perspective that Wembley Stadium has ever experienced.
