Wembley Stadium Wins Gold at the Green Apple Awards
The Green Team has been awarded the Gold category at the prestigious Green Apple Awards. Established by The Green Organisation, The Green Apple Awards has recognised, rewarded and promoted environmental best practice to individuals and organisations since 1994.
The awards are one of the few RSA-accredited campaigns chosen as an automatic feeder scheme for British entries into the Brussels-led European Business Awards for the Environment.
The Sustainability Manager for Wembley Stadium, James Huartson and Green Team members Jane Baker and Henry Munro collected the award on behalf of the Green Team at a ceremony held at the Houses of Parliament on Monday 12 November.
Previous winners of the Green Apple Awards have included: Siemens, ARUP, CBRE, BBC, AVIVA, Carlsberg, BP, Coca-Cola, Cemex, CO-OP, McDonalds, The Environment Agency, Tesco, GSK, Ford, E-ON, Fiat, B&Q, Honda, Jaguar, Highways Agency, Marks & Spencer, Unilever, United Nations, Samsung, Sainsbury’s, The Savoy Hotel, BAE Systems.
