With the Rugby Football League’s (RFL) showpiece event – the Challenge Cup Final – upon us once more a number of media events took place ahead of Saturday’s final.

On Monday afternoon former Rugby League great Martin Offiah was at Wembley Stadium to accept a Wembley Way stone in honour of his career in the game but also for some fine Wembley moments, including his length of the field try against Leeds Rhinos in 1994.

Martin took time out from the event to speak to FATV about his award and what it means to him.

Martin Offiah was present again on Thursday afternoon as the RFL announced the creation of a statue honouring five of Rugby League’s most legendary players.

The public work of art at Wembley will incorporate the five players who featured in the final shortlist: Billy Boston, Eric Ashton, Martin Offiah, Gus Risman and Alex Murphy.

It was another superb opportunity to show the unique history that Wembley Stadium and the RFL share and certainly whets the appetites of fans making their way to Wembley this Saturday for a repeat of the 2010 final between Leeds Rhinos and Warrington Wolves.
