Capital Radio has today confirmed that their Summertime Ball with Vodafone will be returning to Wembley Stadium on Saturday 9th June 2012.

The star-studded line-up will be announced on air later this week and is set to feature the biggest stars in music. Last year’s event featured Jenifer Lopez, Jessie J, Nicole Scherzinger and Cee Lo Green.

The first Capital Summertime Ball was held in 2009 and was the station’s first open air concert for five years. The massive hit music event featured performances from stars including Katy Perry, Leona Lewis, Akon and Lionel Richie. It has quickly become a high profile annual music event.

Wembley Stadium Chairman Melvin Benn said: "Everyone at the stadium is looking forward to welcoming back the Capital FM team for their annual Summertime Ball. It’s become a highlight of the stadium calendar featuring such stellar names from the world of music. I’m looking forward to finding out this year’s line-up when it’s announced later this week – it promises to be a great event."
