Wembley Wins Live UK Music Award

Thursday October 6th saw Wembley Stadium win the 'Best Venue Teamwork' award for the second year running at the Live UK Music Awards.

The team saw off worthy competition in the stadium category from the Millennium Stadium and Hampden Park. Voting for the award was conducted online by a large anonymous community of industry experts, with moderation by a smaller panel to ensure the integrity of the voting process.

A team of those involved in concerts at Wembley were present to collect the award and Jim Frayling, Head of Music & New Events, explained: "We genuinely weren't expecting to repeat our win from last year, so it's a lovely surprise.

"The great thing about this award is the voting process is done anonymously by the industry, so it means this is genuine recognition for the efforts of the whole team at the stadium in the last year, when we have hosted 650,000 Take That fans and the Capital Summertime Ball."

Roger Maslin, MD of Wembley Stadium, added: "This is great recognition for what we have achieved already and I'd like to congratulate all the stadium and group staff involved.

"We won this award as a team. Our challenge is now to improve further as a team."
