England v Holland to be 'Street League International'.

The FA announced today that England’s upcoming home international friendly against Holland on 10 August will be the first ever international for the charity Street League.

Street League, one The FA’s 2011-12 charity partners, helps young people who are out of work to turn their lives around. Over 100 representatives of the charity will be present at the Street League International at Wembley next month when England take on the Dutch in the opening international fixture of the new season.

Ahead of the match, a Dutch Street League team will also be taking on their England counterparts in a five-a-side match by Wembley Stadium before watching the game as guests of The FA. The charity’s attendance at Wembley also marks the official end of the Summer Academy which was launched at Wembley in early June when a group of Street League participants were invited by England Manager Fabio Capello to watch the England squad train ahead of their UEFA Euro 2012 qualifier against Switzerland.

The staff at 10 Downing Street have also chosen Street League as their charity partner for the year. Today Street League Ambassador Cesc Fabregas took 30 of the top students from across the country for a graduation ceremony in Downing Street where they were joined by the British and Spanish Prime Ministers.

Speaking at the event, David Cameron said: "There's nothing more important for our young people today than helping them to get a job. That's what I'm passionate about. It's not just about cutting unemployment and boosting growth - as vital as that is - it's about changing lives.

Charities like Street League do so much to help young people turn their lives around and get back into work or training. So I'm delighted that staff in Number 10 are continuing to volunteer with Street League. It's great to see Cesc Fabregas involved too and to be able to showcase Street League's work as part of Prime Minister Zapatero's visit today."

The Street League Academy graduates will also be coming into Wembley the day before the game takes place as part of a work-shadowing scheme with FA staff. Many of the academy members will be given a unique insight into the match day operations that take place at England’s national stadium.

The Street League Academy’s attendance at Wembley caps off a wonderful summer of activities through the partnerships with Number 10 and Street League.”

The FA has also supported a number of Street League’s match day tournaments over the past year with the help of FA volunteers at match days as well as donating Umbro kit for the participating teams.

The FA recently arranged special visits from England Manager Fabio Capello and England Women’s Head Coach Hope Powell to Street League Match day tournaments, where players took part in special Q and A sessions with the Head Coaches who also handed out prizes and signed shirts to the winning teams. Street League held their annual awards and charity dinner for players, guests and sponsors at Wembley last October.
