Spurs v Juventus

Tottenham see off Italian champions Juventus in an impressive end to pre-season

A sunny day at Wembley saw Tottenham play host to first time visitors Juventus at Wembley, Spurs’ temporary home for the upcoming season.

Tottenham started the game very lively and took a well-deserved lead through Harry Kane.

A brilliant flowing move from Tottenham saw Moussa Sissoko feed Kieran Trippier down the right flank who delivered a fantastic cross that found Kane unmarked at the back post. Kane’s downward header found its way in to the roof of the net and past Buffon.

Juventus did begin to find their feet midway in to the first half and almost restored parity but for a fine save from Hugo Lloris in the Spurs goal.

Spurs began the second half as they started the first and made their dominance count as they doubled their lead early in the half.

Dele Alli found himself with space on the edge of the area and his clever through ball found Christian Eriksen who calmly rounded Buffon and passed the ball in to an empty net.

This goal ultimately finished the game and although Juventus had some chances, hitting the bar twice in the final 10 minutes, Spurs remained in control for the majority of the match.

A very promising performance at Wembley should send Spurs in to the opening game of the Premier League season full of confidence.
