Steve Morison scores a late winner at Wembley as Millwall win promotion to the Sky Bet Championship
Morison’s 85th minute volley was enough to secure Millwall promotion back to the Championship despite a close encounter at Wembley Stadium. Bradford battled hard, and arguably had the better chances of the first half – the clearest of which falling to Billy Clarke. A smart counter attack saw Clarke clean through on the Millwall goal, but he was smartly denied by Jordan Archer.
Millwall were much improved in the second half and almost took the lead through Jed Wallace – but he dragged his effort well wide after being played through. However Millwall struck the winner soon after when Steve Morison stabbed home Gregory’s glancing header to send Millwall back to the Championship after a 2 year absence.
