England 0-0 Germany
After a perfect qualifying campaign for the reigning world champions very few probably expected a young England side to prove a major bump in the road for the German juggernaut of the last couple of years.
However, although Gareth Southgate was forced to call upon his Three Lions cubs, those he put his faith in were keen to show that they could help England become kings next summer.
Ruben Loftus-Cheek, Tammy Abraham and Jordan Pickford all made their England bows from the off but you'd have not spotted a debutant between them if you weren't already aware.
Abraham was a constant threat, Loftus-Cheek carried off the man-of the match award and Pickford was imperious between the sticks denying Sane and Werner with world class saves.
At the other end England will be kicking themselves especially after Lingard spurned a golden chance in the last seconds but regardless of missed opportunities it was a night for positives and the future looks bright on this showing.
