The Capital FM Summertime Ball rolled into Wembley Stadium on Sunday 12th June bringing with it a cavalcade of pop royalty.
JLS kicked off the show in style and warmed the rain drenched crowd a treat with a selection of their greatest hits and a radio exclusive of their new single and they were quickly followed by some of the world’s biggest pop stars including Jennifer Lopez, Enrique Iglesias, Nicole Scherzinger, Cee Lo Green and The Wanted.
Example celebrated hitting the number 1 spot in the charts with new single, “Changed The Way You Kissed Me”, by getting the crowd bouncing higher than any other act had managed. American megastar, Jennifer Lopez delighted screaming fans by performing hits old and new including “Jenny From The Block” and “Waiting For Tonight” alongside recent chart troubler “On The Floor.”
Jessie J trooped on despite slipping off the stage the day before in rehearsals and hurting her ankle. The normally active performer had a gold throne on stage to sit on to perform her huge hits, “Do It Like A Dude” and “Nobody’s Perfect”. She was joined on stage by good friend Devlin to finish her set with super catchy “Price Tag” or as the lady herself described it “the cha ching song for the mums and dads.”
RnB superstar Ne-Yo brought the show to a close amongst an explosion of glitter and confetti. After informing the crowd there wasn’t enough time to perform all the songs he’s like to he put together a medley of three of his favourites spanning his seven year career, finishing with a remixed version of his collaboration with Pitbull, “Give Me Everything.”
The rain may have poured but the crowd’s spirits where never dampened and a great time was had by all with the crowd filtering out into the night still singing, dancing and chattering about their favourite acts of the day.
