Blackpool 3 - 2 Cardiff City
Attendance: 82,244
Brett Ormerod scored the winner to earn Blackpool a 3 - 2 victory over Cardiff in the Coca-Cola Championship Play Off Final and secure promotion to the Premier League.
The Lancashire side, who were in the bottom division just nine years ago, will be rubbing shoulders with Chelsea and Machester United next season after a thrilling Wembley victory.
Cardiff, bidding to becaome the first Welsh side in the Premier League, led twice through Michael Chopra and Joe Ledley but they were pegged back by Charlie Adam and Gary Taylor-Fletcher before veteran frontman Ormerod cracked the winner in first half stoppage time.
Ormerod's 13th goal of the season - undoubtedly the most important strike of the 33 year old's long career - gave the Seasiders an advantage they did not surrender.
It ensured the Blackpool supporters - who made one half of Wembley a sea of brilliant tangerine - were in ecstasy at the final whistle while Cardiff boss Dave Jones and his players were left devastated.
