Saracens made it two wins from two in the Guinness Premiership with a narrow victory over Northampton Saints at Wembley.
44,832 Saracens fans came to Wembley to watch Steve Borthwick's team record a hard fought 19-16 victory over Saints - the club's highest ever crowd. The Wembley crowd were treated to performances from winners of Britain's Got Talent, Diversity, in the build up to kick off.
Once the game started there was no shortage of drama or controversy on the pitch. The game was closely fought and Northampton battled hard, especially in the second half when the game really came to life. Saracens held on for victory however in a display of great character and determination which carried them to victory, despit a late try from Northampton prop Soane Tonga'uiha which was ruled out by the TV Match Official.
It was a great occassion for the club away from Vicarage Road. Saracen's centre Brad Barritt said: "I used to watch football matches at the stadium when I was a child so to be able to play out on the pitch was a fantastic experience and one that I will never forget."
Scrum half Neil de Kick added: "It's not only a great result but it was also a fantastic occassion... A crowd of nearly 45,000 speaks for itself. I can't wait to come back!"
