Coventry City Supporters travelling to tomorrow’s EFL Championship Play-Off at Wembley Stadium via Chiltern Railways are being urged to use alternative travel routes.

Wembley Stadium’s Safety Advisory Group was made aware that Chiltern Railway services are severely over-subscribed. Chiltern Train services to and from the game will not be able to cope with the demand. Return services will be particularly hit with capacity at 50% of the number of tickets sold, leaving thousands of Coventry fans stranded in London.

Fans should seriously consider using alternative travel options as set out below.  Other train operators are not affected. 

General Advice

Customers with pre-booked tickets on Chiltern Railways are advised to apply for a full ticket refund and find alternative modes of travel. Anyone without a pre-booked ticket should not travel.

Coach Travel

National Express is the official coach supplier to Wembley and the easiest and most convenient way to travel to the stadium. It operates services to the stadium from over 50 locations across the UK, with additional services from Coventry to London Victoria in place on Saturday 27 May.

TfL London Underground

Transport for London’s (TfL) underground service will be operating as normal.

Supporters should consider travelling into London via coach or car and interchanging to Wembley Stadium via the TfL network Plan your journey using TfL’s Journey Planner or the TfL Go app, and check before you travel for more information on how services in London are running.

Park and Walk – Fryent Park

Additional parking has been made available at nearby Fryent Park where a park and walk service will be in operation for those driving to Wembley Stadium.

Fryent Park is approximately a 25-minute-walk away from Wembley Stadium. This car park will be open from 0900 and will close at 2100. All walking routes will be signposted, to and from the stadium.
