After a record breaking summer of music at Wembley, Coldplay and friends put on a sensational show for Wembley's last concerts of 2009.
With such a stunning line up of music on offer, the stadium filled up early. White Lies kicked things off followed by Girls Aloud who performed a 45 minute set including many of their best known hits including a special version of Robyn's Every Heartbeat. Next it was over to rap superstar Jay-Z who stormed onto the stage and whipped up the crowd with an hour long energetic set.
Next up was the main act, Coldplay, who opened with Life In Technicolour, Violet Hill and Clocks and in a two hour set performed many of their other hits including Yellow, In My Place, Fix You, Viva La Vida, Death And All His Friends and The Scientist.
Jay-Z then joined Chris Martin on stage to the absolute delight of the crowd for a very special version of Lost. At the end of the stunning performance the crowd cheered as Jay-Z embraced his friend before wrestling him to the ground. When Martin eventually climbed back to his feet he thanked his friend Shawn 'Jay-Z' Carter.
The Coldplay boys then left the main stage and walked through the audience to second mini stage in the middle of the crowd. Here they were joined by their second stage guest of the night, actor and comedian, Simon Pegg who showed off his skills on the harmonica whilst they performed Trouble and an acoustic version of Michael Jackson's Billie Jean.
It was a superb night of music and a fantastic end to a record summer of music at Wembley Stadium.
