15th December 2005
Wembley Stadium is delighted to announce Umbro as a Founding Partner of the new state-of-the-art Wembley Stadium.
Opening this year the 90,000-seat venue will be one of the biggest and most sophisticated stadiums in the world and Umbro will play a key role in the venue’s exciting future.
This partnership brings together two names that have an incredibly rich footballing heritage going back many years. In addition this alliance brings together two globally recognised brands that are quintessentially English.
The partnership secures Umbro a presence at all the events that Wembley Stadium hosts including sporting events and concerts. It also secures a variety of other marketing rights in relation to the national Stadium, including the use of the pitch on an annual basis and a 20-seater super box in a prime location. Umbro merchandise will also be sold in Wembley Stadium’s official retail outlets
Umbro becomes the second Founding Partner to be announced. Umbro join Microsoft, the world’s leading technology company, who were announced as the Stadium’s first Founding Partner in October this year.
The unveiling of Umbro as a Founding Partner to the new Stadium comes as part of a broader and long term deal announced today by Umbro and The FA.
A series of agreements will see Umbro strengthen its current relationships with the FA Group and demonstrate its commitment to football at all levels.
The new deal is structured as four separate agreements:
· Umbro has entered into a new contract to 2014 to design and supply, on an exclusive basis, playing and training kit to England Teams at all levels and for the distribution and sales of replica product worldwide.
· Umbro has agreed to become one of four Founding Partners of the new Wembley Stadium.
· Umbro will partner The FA in the further development of the National Football Centre (NFC) at Burton–upon–Trent, becoming the title sponsor of the Centre.
· Umbro will become the exclusive football supplier to The FA at all levels of the game.
