Kaiser hails Wembley

The legendary German defender Franz Beckenbauer was so impressed upon visiting Wembley that he has changed his opinion of what he feels is the best stadium in the world.

Previously Beckenbauer had believed that there was no greater stage to perform on than Munich's own Allianz Arena.

But after touring Wembley as part of a special day to commemorate the World Cup Final of 1966, the Kaiser now believes that Wembley has 'an extra dimension'.

Beckenbauer said: "Before I stepped into the new Wembley Stadium my opinion was that Munich was the best stadium in the World. But now I have seen this it is like a new dimension.

"This stadium has a capacity of 90,000, but in Munich the capacity is 66,000. It is quite a big difference.

"When it is finished in two or three months it will be the best stadium in the World. This would be a highlight and really I would say bid for the World Cup 2018."
