Wembley Stadium: ‘Coke’ is it!
16 March 2007
Coca-Cola Enterprises Ltd. today proudly announces it will be the ‘Official Supplier to Wembley Stadium’ with their world famous ‘Coca-Cola’, ‘diet Coke’ and ‘Coke’ Zero brands.
The new state of the art facility will be host to a wide range of sporting events and music concerts – all areas that Coca-Cola has strong links to.
Malcolm Plows, Trading Director with Coca-Cola Enterprises said today:
“Being an Official Supplier of the new Wembley Stadium is such an exciting opportunity for all of us and cements the long association we have with sport and music. Being a part of the great football passion is what this agreement is all about!”
Jonathan Gregory, Marketing and Commercial Director for Wembley Stadium said:
“Coca-Cola and football go hand in hand and we are delighted that they will be the Official Supplier at the new Wembley Stadium. Coca-Cola had a fantastic relationship with the old Stadium and we are looking forward to continuing this and developing it further in the years to come.”
The agreement means that Coca-Cola has the opportunity to refresh over 2 million fans that are expected to visit the stadium each year over the life of the contract. This sponsorship continues the strong association that Coca-Cola has with all aspects of football from the sponsorship of the FIFA World Cup and the Football League to grassroots schools football. This exciting alliance with the new state-of-the-art national stadium now adds to this history.
The first cups of Coca-Cola will be poured for local residents attending this Saturday’s Wembley Stadium Community Day*, the first of two test events that the new Stadium will host.
Malcolm Plows continues:
“We look forward to refreshing the local Wembley residents at this Saturday’s Community Day. As you’d expect, we’re also incredibly excited that the Stadium looks on track to host the Coca-Cola Football League Play-offs in May this year!”
