Muse Rock Wembley
16 June 2007

English rock band Muse became the first band to rock the new Wembley as they kicked off the first of two dates at the new venue with an epic two hour performance.

To open the performance the band surprised the audience by emerging in the middle of the crowd amidst a cloud of silver glitter before making their way to the stage on a raised catwalk. Muse in concert

The stage itself was a work of art with giant satellite dishes, futuristic antennas, giant white balls and thousands of dazzling lights.

The lads from Devon, famous for their stunning live performances, did not disappoint a sell-out Wembley crowd as they opened proceedings with the triumphant ‘Knights of Cydonia.’ From then on in, the band performed a career spanning set that kept the atmosphere pumping throughout.

The music was matched by an extravagant production that saw satellite dishes illuminating the venue and even acrobats soaring over the audience, suspended by giant helio spheres The show was without question an incredible spectacle.

After a few encores the band finally closed the show with a fitting 'Take A Bow.' After the unleashing of giant flames at the end of the song, the band soaked up their well earned applause and left the stage for the final time, but not before thanking the audience.

Lead singer Bellamy said:
"Thanks! You guys have been fantastic, and thanks for making us the first artists to sell out [the new] Wembley Stadium!"

Fans filed into the stadium from early afternoon and were rewarded with three support acts. The acoustic duo Rodrigo y Gabriella opened proceedings with upbeat acoustic guitars and vocals. This was followed by Dirty Pretty Things who included Libertine’s track ‘France’ in their 45 minute set as well as new songs ‘Suits Punks Military’ and ‘Plastic Hearts.’Muse in concert
