The FA Community Shield takes place at Wembley Stadium on 9th August 2009. Manchester United, the champions of the Premier League, will take on Chelsea, the winners of The FA Cup, in a match that raises funds for FA charity and community projects.

Manchester United beat Portsmouth 3-1 on penalties last season and are the most successful team in this competition having won the Shield outright 13 and shared it a further four times.
