The Wembley Stadium Arch

The most visibly striking feature of the new stadium is the 133 metre tall Arch that sits above the northern half of the stadium. It is over four times as high as Wembley Stadiums’ original Twin Towers and is tall enough for the London Eye to be rolled underneath.

The Arch is more than just an iconic feature that is visible across London. It has the crucial function of supporting 5,000 tonnes of the roof structure, replacing the need for pillars and therefore ensuring that all fans have fantastic views of the pitch. The Arch also makes it possible to retract the south roof to allow light and air onto the famous Wembley pitch.

This section contains images, video clips and interesting facts and figures about the Arch and the lifting process.
