Wembley Transport Improvements
Travel to the new Wembley Stadium is being greatly improved in order to give each of the 90,000 spectators a stress-free and safe journey.
- Transport for London is working closely with the London Development Agency, the Department of Culture, Media and Sport, Wembley National Stadium Limited, London Borough of Brent and other stakeholders to help deliver the improvements
- More than £70 million is being invested by Transport for London, London Underground, the London Development Agency, the Greater London Authority and Wembley National Stadium Limited through Section 106 monies to ensure visitors to Wembley can move smoothly and safely to and from the stations
- With about 100 trains per hour on event days, the National Stadium will benefit from quicker and safer public transport journeys
- The new Wembley Stadium is designed to be a public transport destination. As a result, millions of pounds are being spent to improve capacity at the three stations that serve the stadium - Wembley Park, Wembley Central and Wembley Stadium stations
- The three stations, together with other public and private transport options, will be able to get the 90,000 people at the stadium from the event and on their way home smoothly and safely
- Lifts are being installed at all stations to provide access for mobility impaired passengers
- There will also be highway improvements to the stadium access corridor from the North Circular Road
