EUSEBIO full name Eusebio da Silva Ferreira, led Benfica and Portugal to the heights of world football and became one of the most lethal goalscorers in Europe in the 1960s.
A player with lightening speed and a fierce shot was the top scorer in Portugal for nine seasons, made 77 international appearances for Portugal and was voted European Footballer of the Year in 1965. At Wembley the greatest Portuguese player in history was an unlucky loser with Benfica in the European Cup (1963 and 1968) and with Portugal in the World Cup (the 1966 semi-final against England).
