Bobby Moore

BOBBY MOORE was a world-class defender who became England’s youngest captain at the age of 22 and went on to win 108 caps.

As an inspiring leader and brilliant reader of the game for West Ham United and England, he was a Wembley winner with the ’Hammers’ in 1964 (FA Cup) and 1965 (European Cup Winners’ Cup) and with Alf Ramsey’s England in 1966 (World Cup). At the Mexico World Cup in 1970 many of his opponents named him the best defender in the world.

Five years later, at 34, he played for Fulham in the FA Cup Final – against West Ham.

Wembley Stadium has commissioned a statue of Bobby Moore to be at the new Stadium. For more information click here
