England v USA

15 Nov 2018

England have finalised their 2018 autumn schedule with the confirmation of two home internationals against Switzerland and the United States.

The matches will complement the new UEFA Nations League programme with the Three Lions facing home and away dates with Croatia and Spain in the inaugural national-team competition. Switzerland will visit on Tuesday 11 September, with the venue yet to be decided, while the United States fixture on Thursday 15 November will take place at Wembley Stadium connected by EE.

The Swiss have been regular visitors to these shores with the most recent trip being during Euro 2016 qualifying in September 2015 when goals from Harry Kane and Wayne Rooney settled a 2-0 victory for the hosts. The last meeting with the U.S in England came in May 2008 when John Terry and Steven Gerrard scored in a 2-0 home win.

Following the 2018 FIFA World Cup, the Nations League programme gets under way on Saturday 8 September, with Spain heading to Wembley for a 7.45pm kick-off. Gareth Southgate’s team will then travel to Croatia on Friday 12 October before the return trip to Spain on Monday 15 October. Both these fixtures will also kick-off at 7.45pm UK time.

After the U.S date, the 2018 match calendar will conclude with Croatia at Wembley for a 2pm kick-off on Sunday 18 November.
