How do you top selling out three consecutive nights at Wembley Stadium? By coming back three years later and selling out four of course!

In the history of Wembley Stadium very few artists have performed seven incredible shows in three years but certainly none have done it using nothing more than a guitar and a loop pedal.

To suggest that’s all Ed Sheeran has in his armoury is to do him a huge disservice. The man has charm, charisma and a repertoire of songs all of which are instant hits.

Sheeran is the king of the sing-a-long and many of the Wembley crowd will have headed to work hoarse on Monday morning having spent a night hollering out the words to his multitude of chart smashing anthems.

He also has in his back pocket popularity. Not just with the general public (nearly 300,000 of them showing up over four nights) but within the celebrity community.

In 2015 he shocked Wembley by bringing onto stage Elton John, this time it was Andrea Bocelli and Stormzy. Ed attracts A-list!

The nights themselves were all a festival of music, kicked off by Jamie Lawson and the excellent Anne-Marie before the main took to the stage.

A sure sign of exactly how much Sheeran has done in the past three years is how varied his playlist was from his 2015 gigs.

Of course classics like Sing, A-team and Thinking Out Loud got an outing but he found room for his enormous catalogue of new hits such as Galway Girl, New Man and Shape Of You.

Anyone who came to 2015 got a brand new Ed Sheeran experience in 2018, an epic night of songs you were guaranteed to be singing all the way to Wembley Park station and beyond.
