Challenge Cup Final

26 Aug 2017 - 3:00 PM

The Ladbrokes Challenge Cup Final returned to Wembley Stadium connected by EE as Hull FC took on Wigan Warriors.
Last year Hull FC edged out Warrington Wolves 12-10 and broke Leeds Rhinos two year dominance of the trophy.
Four times winners Hull FC had never retained the trophy but would be hoping to break that run this year.
They didn’t get off to the best of starts as John Bateman scored an early try for Wigan which was then converted by George Williams.
But Hull FC responded magnificently with two tries in quick succession to take a 12-6 lead.
Wigan hit back with a try of their own but were unable to convert and went into half time trailing Hull 12-10.
Hull scored first in the second half to take an 18-10 lead and they nearly scored again soon after but this time it was ruled out by the video referee.
Wigan then scored late in the 2nd half to ensure a tense finish.
But there was more late drama to come as a Wigan try was ruled out in the last minute because of a forward pass!
Hull FC held on to edge a thrilling match 18-14!
