On Sunday 31st August, the world's largest one day running event - The Nike+ Human Race - took place at Wembley Stadium. Up to one million runners across the globe competed in a 10k race. GB team captain, Paula Radcliffe, lead over 16 thousand Brits as they competed against 25 different global cities, with each country striving to get the fastest time.
The first race kicked off in Taipei, Taiwan and the last race ended in LA, all on 31 August 2008. The race courses took runners via iconic landmarks such as the Eiffel Tower in Paris and Taipel 101 in Taiwan.
In London, the runners started the race from inside Wembley Stadium, following a 90 minute music concert featuring Moby, Pendulum and Carl Craig, before crossing the finishing line at Olympic Way.
Over four thousand supporters also attended the event to cheer on friends and family.
A proportion of the registration fee will be donated to one of four charities UNHCR, Livestrong, WWF and local charity Fairbridge.
